SEND & Inclusion
Special Educational Needs and Disability
At Wolgarston High School we aim to support the needs of all of our students, working with them from when they join us in Year 9 until they leave the school. We aim to give pupils the chance to build the skills needed for their futures.
Our links with parents and carers are very important to us, and we encourage contact between home and school.
We are developing ways that teaching and learning takes place across the timetable. Teaching and learning styles that help dyslexic learners help all learners.
Exam time can be very hard for any student. The school will assess learners with a particular need and make sure, where needed, that they get any extra help in exams that they require.
The SEN Team are based in the Inclusion Hub, and provide support to pupils before school, at break time, lunchtime and in our Homework Club after school. We have a quiet sensory room that pupils can access when needed and offer a place to come and spend break and lunchtime.
