What did we do last year
Question Time Event at Wolgarston
On Monday 4th July between 7pm and 9 pm Wolgarston’s Student Council, along with Mrs Kirk and Mrs Davies, attended the Stafford and Stone Youth Forum.
It was a lively event, the pinnacle of which was the question time session in which young people had the opportunity to air their views and pose questions about local youth concerns to a panel of experts.
The panel consisted of Mike Lawrence - County Councillor and Cabinet member, Mark Jones - Head of Positive Activities with Staffordshire Young People’s Service, and John Francis - County Councillor. Our Student Council - Tegan Blackhurst, Simon Gater, Jess Shaw, Izzy Leroux, Bradley Clemson and Adam Haywood.
The highlight of the evening was Izzy’s question to the panel about security cameras in Penkridge which sparked a lively debate and certainly got people talking. Bradley Clemson also made such an impression with his question about getting a cycle lane in Penkridge, that the chair Alex Hylton suggested that he apply for Youth Parliament!
