Special Education Needs

At Wolgarston High School we aim to support the needs of all of our students, working with them from when they join us at the end of year 8 until they leave the school.

We work closely with FSSC, the school Link Governor, as well as outside agencies and groups to support pupils within the school. We aim to give pupils the chance to build the skills needed for their futures.

Our links with parents and carers are very important to us, and we encourage contact between home and school.

At the moment we are working to gain Dyslexia Friendly Status for the school. We are developing ways that teaching and learning takes place across the timetable. Teaching and learning styles that help dyslexic learners help all learners.

Exam time can be very hard for any student. The school will assess learners with a particular need and make sure, where needed, that they get any extra help in exams that they require.
